Hahaha
Funny how I watched Wicked, got COMPLETELY OBSESSED over Elphaba/Jemma Rix (Okay. This will never compare to Justine-level obsessing, because it’s not quite possible) but as time passes, I’m beginning to appreciate Lucy Durack a lot more than when I watched Wicked. I mean, I’ve watched her all 3 times I watched Wicked, and the idea of Suzie Mathers being Glinda terrifies me (“Your voice” in What is this Feeling? doesn’t quite work unless someone has a nasally/high-pitched/Chenoweth-esque voice) (Although I’d want to see how Suzie does before I judge – who knows? Maybe I’ll like her as much as I liked Lucy) (That’s only if I DO get to see Wicked in Singapore). I mean, this is ironic, considering
1. Glinda opens with sky-high notes in No One Mourns The Wicked and I cannot stand soprano-high notes most of the time.
- Which means that I didn’t like Glinda when the musical began
2. I can’t stand the Cheno voice (But now I only find it endearing when it’s Galinda/Glinda. It just… fits the character so well, you know?)
But now I just think that Lucy Durack is amazing.
Maybe it’s because Lucy’s from Perth. Hahaha. I don’t know.
This was posted here because I think my Tumblr is filled with enough Wicked as it is, and there are certain people on Blogdrive whom I don’t want to read this. xD
